Restoring the Family Farm
Regenerating Soil, Water, Fields & Forest
This is our invitation to you to visit
The Hub!

We are grateful and proud of what my grandparents, HH “Hub” & Agnes Brown cultivated as a way of life, so we invite you to come to see the work in progress, meet our family, and spend the night in one of our RV Camp Spots accommodations in Upstate NY. We are keenly aware of the many years of grit and grind, with grins on the faces of our people.

Visiting the farm may be a fond reminder of memories, awaken your senses, create new experiences, or teach valuable values to those willing to learn.

We are all consumers.  Curiosity may inspire your desire to know how your food is produced, and we believe farms and farmers should operate with full transparency.

People who travel near and far and even the local community are welcome to visit our farm.
  • Today, The Hub ~ on Welch is 70 acres of regenerative effort on a real, live soil, water, forest, and fields to restart the family farm.

    We have started with:
    • Victory Garden with Trellises, Raised Beds, and Spiral Herb Gardens.
    • Orchard with Fruit Trees surrounded by Tree Guilds to support the ecosystem and encourage pollination.
    • Riparian areas to grow new native plants - trees, shrubs, and bushes.
    • Groundcover and better soil development practices.

  • This year we are introducing Chickens!  As we begin introducing animals to begin again, we will introduce the rotational grazing,

  • Our on-farm accommodations are certainly pet friendly! We do ask that dogs are kept on leashes and pick up after them while out exploring the farm because we do have Farm Dogs that roam and learning to protect the property as they create awareness to critters and predators.

  • We have WiFi (Starlink) available. We hope you will disconnect from your devices and connect with nature. Don’t worry: if you do need it, we have it.

This means that depending on how you plan your visit, a specific  Event or RV accommodations with the opportunity to explore the farm, you may be driving on roads you have never traveled to get here.

Activities to Consider During Your Stay

Take the Road Less Traveled,

  • You will need to dress for weather and plan to walk around, stop and listen, breathe in the fresh air, and see the daylight birds, butterflies, bugs, bees, and various insects.  Wildlife means, plants and animals include many species within the native ecosystem.

  • You can shop and dine in Owego, or explore the area.  We have suggestions for groceries and supplies, local markets, coffee, bakery, and favorite restaurants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!  (Yelp is also helpful but Google seems to have more traffic in this area.

  • There’s plenty to do at The Hub! Let us know if you would like to engage with a tour, an event (check out the website) or even sit and chat about regenerative farming, hear the history of the area with stories, sit around a fire pit, relax, bird watch, see fireflies and stars you have been looking for. The Hub, a community connected.

  • There’s plenty to do in UpState NY!  Here in Tioga County, you can engage with a tour of our farm, local hikes, and visits to other local tourist attractions.

We provide custom maps and are happy to make recommendations for local attractions when you plan your visit. We also host a variety of on-farm events and workshops.

View our event calendar linked below.
